Donewell: To-Do List & Habits
Privacy Policy
The short version
Donewell has no account and no servers of ours. Everything you add (your tasks, habits, checklists, routines and what you've ticked off) is stored only on your phone. We, Greenline Software LLC, never see it, collect it or sell it.
Donewell is free because it shows one small banner ad from Google AdMob. Google's ad software collects some information from your device to show those ads. That's explained below, along with the choices you have.
What stays on your phone
Your items, completions, reminder times and settings are saved in Donewell's own storage on your device. The home-screen widget reads the same on-device data. Reminders are scheduled by your phone itself; nothing is sent to us or to any server to make them work.
If your phone's own backup is turned on (Google's backup on Android, iCloud Backup on iPhone), it may include Donewell's data, so you can keep it when you move to a new phone. Those backups are handled by Google or Apple under their privacy policies; we can't see them.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Donewell shows a banner ad on some screens using Google's Mobile Ads SDK. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the SDK collects information from your device, such as:
- device and advertising identifiers (for example, the Android advertising ID)
- your IP address, which can be used to estimate your general location
- how you interact with ads, such as when one is shown or tapped
- diagnostic information, such as crashes and performance
This information goes to Google, not to us. We only see overall reports, such as how many ads were shown. Google's use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in Google's Privacy Policy.
Your ad choices
Android: Google may use your advertising ID to personalize ads. You can turn that off, or delete the ID, in your phone's settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads, depending on your phone).
iPhone: Donewell never asks for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so it doesn't use your device's advertising identifier.
European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: the first time you open Donewell, Google's consent message asks how your information may be used for ads. You can change your answer at any time in Donewell's Settings → Ad privacy options.
Ratings
Donewell may once show your app store's own rating window. It's run by Apple or Google; Donewell isn't told whether or how you rated it.
Children
Donewell is a general-audience app and isn't directed at children under 13.
Deleting your data
Because everything is on your phone, deleting Donewell deletes your data. There's no account, so there's nothing for us to delete. Copies in your phone's backup follow your backup settings with Google or Apple.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
